Child Soldier Relief


The mission of Child Soldier Relief Foundation (CSR), a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization designated by the Internal Revenue Code, is to advocate on behalf of child soldiers by serving as a central repository of information on all topics relating to the topic of child soldiers.

Child Soldier Issue taken on by local theater group in Eastwood, Australia

A group of young actors are addressing the topic of child soldiers with a hard-hitting play about two young boys who are forced to confront a number of issues when one of them is forced to become a child soldier, and then return home to a community that rejects them.  The play, Stoning Mary, is being performed at SBW Stables Theatre in Eastwood, Australia.  From this article:

“It’s about being brutalised by enemy forces, being sent home completely changed; about how parents would have to deal with having a child soldier,” Adam [one of the actors] said. “I’m still their son, but they’re terrified of me.”

Stoning Mary, written by Debbie Tucker Green, is showing at SBW Stables Theatre, Kings Cross, until June 21.
